Paulina and Jonathan wanted a small and intimate Puerto Rico destination wedding that celebrated their love and union, with a bit of authentic Puerto Rico culture.

They contacted Puerto Rico Destination Weddings (www.prdestinationweddings.com) several months their vacation to help with their dream of a Puerto Rico destination wedding. We love sharing Puerto Rico with our clients, and were up to the challenge of something different and creative.

Like many of our couples, we communicated back and forth via email for several weeks, making sure that our Puerto Rico elopement package was customized to meet all their needs.

We brainstormed different ideas before deciding on something beach and water related. We chose to include a Puerto Rican ‘yola’, or traditional fishing boat. And not just any yola…..we partnered with Captain Sergio to provide the most famous and iconic yola in Puerto Rico, La Yareliz. La Yaraliz calls home the world-famous Crashboat beach and might be the most photographed yola in Puerto Rico. It is simply beautiful We decided to have their ‘first look’ at the yola La Yareliz, and then ride in the boat to a nearby deserted beach for their ceremony.

The day of their wedding, it unusually rained all afternoon. As always, we monitored the radar and knew that there would be a break in the weather late afternoon, allowing them to be married on the date they wanted. As we pronounced them husband and wife, the clouds parted and the beautiful sun shone down on them and their first kiss as husband and wife. Our favorite part of their wedding video is when the entire team looks on with joy and amazement as Mother Nature gifted them with a magical sunset after all, as they sailed off into the sunset.
