Saludos all!

I hope this message finds you all well this month of romance! Happy Valentine’s Day to you and yours, everyone!

This month we’re featuring the beautiful sequel wedding of Allison & Cesar at our private, open-air wedding venue. Their video featuring drone footage, capturing both their beach wedding ceremony as well as their dinner celebration, is simply stunning. We hope you agree!

I think we’re all hopeful that a return to normal is in sight; certainly, wedding planning is officially underway for so many couples who’ve waited so long. Many visitors to our website have enjoyed our informative posts about traveling for and planning a destination wedding in Puerto Rico, so we highlight a few below.

Finally, we’d like to introduce you to a few new (feathered) members of the PRDW family. Watch this space over the next months as we expand our farm-to-table dinner and reception offerings, of course with our fresh eggs from our hacienda.

Have a wonderful February all, and, as always, let us know how we can help with your destination wedding, elopement, sequel wedding, vow renewal, or anything else!

Best,

Allison & Cesar’s Wedding Video

Check out this stunning wedding video! Allison & Cesar had a beautiful wedding ceremony at The Ruins of Aguadilla followed by a romantic dinner under the stars at our venue, Hacienda 222. Allison & Cesar’s is an example of a sequel wedding, read more below.

What is a Sequel Wedding?

As we look back over the past year, we’ve all learned new ways of looking at old things, and even new words to describe them. You might have heard of a micro wedding or a tiny wedding, but have you heard of a sequel wedding? Sequel weddings have become common during Covid; simply put, it’s a two-part wedding. The first ceremony is usually an intimate, legal wedding ceremony with plans for a larger celebration with loved ones at a later date. There’s no need to put off the wedding of your dreams … just rethink it a bit and spread it out over two days. Vanessa & Andres were one of our favorite 2020 sequel weddings. They enjoyed several weekends of celebration, with a ceremony in Massachusetts for her family, and one in Puerto Rico with his family the very next Saturday.

Trash-The-Dress Photos

Trash-the-dress photos give you a lovely time away from the excitement of your wedding day to capture special moments with your partner and family. If you’d like the opportunity to be a little more adventurous while capturing amazing professional photos, including aerial shots from one of our FAA-certified drone pilots, then a trash-the-dress photo shoot may be perfect for you.

New Team Members

Introducing the latest members of the Puerto Rico Destination Weddings, Inc. team, our kikirikis! Kikirikis are miniature chickens native to Puerto Rico, and they are named such for the unique cock-a-doodle-doo noise that they make.  They are beautiful and curvy and full of personality, so we’ve appropriately named all of ours after famous Puerto Ricans…Tito Rojas, Jennifer Lopez, and Sonia Sotomayor. These teacup chickens are already laying eggs and will soon be featured in our farm-to-table dinners! And we’ll be sure to let you know if any of JLo’s chicks hatch.
