2020: A Year in Photos
As we wrap up 2020 and eagerly look forward to 2021, we’d like to take a moment to reflect, remembering that amid all the crazy, this year has also brought moments of great joy and beauty, and growth here at Puerto Rico Destination Weddings, Inc. Enjoy some of our favorite memories…
One of our first weddings of 2020 was the elopement of Lourdes & Matt at Puerto Hermina. We awoke to a (minor) earthquake in the early hours of their wedding day, yet their wedding was full of joy and laughter. Lourdes & Matt celebrated with a champagne toast and even a little cake fight!
One of the reasons Coral & Orlando traveled to Puerto Rico for their wedding was so that Coral’s grandmother, a Puerto Rican native, could be there to see her say “I Do”. It was such a special day for Coral, Orlando, and their families, and we were honored to be a part of it.
Joy & Brad were our first wedding couple after the initial coronavirus restrictions were lifted in Puerto Rico. As healthcare essential workers, they deserved their gorgeous wedding day at the Guajataca Tunnel in Isabela.
One exciting thing that has come from the year of the Covid wedding is the launching of our new venue on our private property, Hacienda 222. Maday & Jimmy’s post-wedding celebration was our first at Hacienda 222 and was absolutely beautiful. Maday had this to say, “What a stunning space and the perfect place for dinner after our intimate wedding. The view is just out-of-this-world and the creative and artistic touches everywhere made this the perfect wedding venue. The team and their relaxed yet attentive vibe completed the celebration, under the stars and to the sound of the sea. Amazing!”
Alex & Darius’ wedding was our first actual ceremony at Hacienda 222. We enjoyed welcoming them to our new wedding venue and sharing in their beautiful day in our special space.
Wildeby & Gian Carlo wanted to honor their native Taino roots on their wedding day. This made for a beautifully spiritual ceremony with the sounds of nature, and the gorgeous Gozalandia Falls in San Sebastian, as their backdrop.
Allison & Cesar had a wedding ceremony at The Ruins of Aguadilla, followed by dinner under the stars at our newest open-air-dining area at Hacienda 222. Their family enjoyed a delicious dinner and champagne toast to celebrate the happy couple.
Natashia & Patrick dreamed of riding on white horses on their wedding day, and we made it happen! What a beautiful way to say “I Do”.
We still have a busy few holiday weeks of weddings ahead of us, but we can’t think of a better wedding photo to wrap up the year. This was taken at the recent wedding of Janimer & Geraldine and it speaks volumes. Who could have guessed a year ago, right? We are so honored to have been trusted by so many couples (40+ and counting…) to provide safe and beautiful Covid weddings this year, socially distanced and in open-air settings.
