2021: a year in photos
As we wrap up 2021, we’d like to take a moment to reflect, remembering the joy and beauty this year has brought. 2021 has been a year of growth here at Puerto Rico Destination Weddings, Inc. We are honored to have been a part of so many beautiful weddings this year and we are proud of our hard-working team that makes it all happen. Enjoy some of our favorite memories of 2021…
The first wedding of the year award goes to … Sonia & Rick who were married in The Ring at Hacienda222 on a gorgeous January day. Not pictured is their adorable dog Gatsby, a tiny little guy who walked Sonia down the aisle.
The sweet family vow renewal of Lakesha & Robert was a special moment in 2021. Lakesha & Robert were married young and didn’t get the chance to have the ceremony they’d been dreaming of. It was an honor to be a part of this beautiful family’s vow renewal on their anniversary.
We love honoring the cultural traditions of our couples. Pragya & Tania incorporated Nepali grass garlands into their wedding day. As you can see, traditions don’t have to be somber or stuffy, it certainly didn’t stop Pragya & Tania from having an adventurous wedding in Puerto Rico!
Speaking of traditions, we’d be remiss if we did not include Allison & Hiram’s beautiful wedding. They started planning their wedding with us in 2019 and had to change plans several times for various reasons. We love to hear about our wedding couples’ experiences. This is what Allison had to say,
“For our ceremony, I wanted my Jewish background to be present as well as my husband’s Puerto Rican background. Ashley was able to merge the Jewish traditions I wanted along with Taino elements for a truly unique and special ceremony. Our families and friends were stunned with how perfect everything was. Ashley and her team hit it out of the park with our wedding. It was a perfect day from start to finish and it would not have been possible without PRDW!! We could not be happier. I know everyone thinks their wedding is the best, but I know with certainty (and some jealous remarks from my friends) that our day wedding truly was the best and it was all possible because of PRDW! It’s apparent you all love what you do and because of that we had the most perfect day.”

Rosi & Andre’s wedding was our first wedding and celebration at what would one day become The Bohio at Hacienda222. We explained the space to Rosi & Andre (no roof, beautiful view) and they trusted us to create their dream wedding day. We were all thrilled with the result!
Any islander’s heart swells with pride when they see the Puerto Rican flag, a symbol of the perseverance and strength of the Puerto Rican people. Here’s to Tahira & Antonio and here’s to Puerto Rico. Wepa!
First looks are always romantic and Veronica & Tatsuo’s first look was no exception. We love the smile on Tatsuo’s face when he saw Veronica for the first time!
Our YouTube channel is our favorite for binge-watching, so we can’t share about 2021 without sharing at least one video. Juliana & Steven’s bohemian wedding at The Guajataca Tunnel was beautiful and intimate. Here is what Juliana had to say about their big day,
“Wow! Our wedding was beautiful and effortless. Everything I had hoped for. The photographer and videographer were AMAZING. Ashley and Joanna answered all my questions all the time and when I sent the picture of what I wanted as an arch they made it happen! I cannot thank you all enough! If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you so much!”

Marianna & Jon are ballroom dancers and they delighted their guests (and our team) with a beautiful wedding day dance at Hacienda222. We hope all of your celebrations are as beautiful and joy-filled as ours have been. Warmest holiday wishes from Puerto Rico Destination Weddings!
