Happy New Year! Our 2025 is off to a fantastic non-stop start! We kicked off our year of happy couples and events with two weddings on January 2nd. Take a look at what’s been happening this year so far…
Harley & BJ started off the year eloping on the beautiful beach of Puerto Hermina, just the two of them. Puerto Rico Destination Weddings Inc. started more than 10 years ago with simple weddings like Harley & BJ’s, and we still love the intimacy of beach elopements.
Later that day, our second wedding of 2025 requested social media silence, so we won’t show any photos of the couple or the guests, but our miniature donkey and mule, Plena and Pippy Longstocking, still want to say hello and show you around Hacienda222.
We’ve always got a project or two going at Hacienda222. One recent addition is another bar and beverage area to better serve our guests. Our celebration packages all include bar service for the duration of your time at Hacienda222. Our artisanal passion fruit rum punch is always a hit. We make it from scratch from passionfruit and herbs grown on Hacienda222, and fortify it with Puerto Rico’s own premium Don Q rum.
At Hacienda222, we’re committed to celebrating and supporting Puerto Rico. For instance, all the fresh tropical flowers come directly from a wonderful organic farmer in the nearby mountains. Here, you see a beautiful mix of gingers and heliconias, including the aptly named rattlesnake ginger, named for its resemblance to a rattlesnake’s tail. See if you can spot it!
We’ve loved getting to know Diana & Nick over the past several years as we’ve worked together to realize their wedding day vision at Hacienda222, mixing luxe, creativity, amazing view and vibes, and of course, delicious food and drink. They were joined by seventy-five of their closest friends and family as they celebrated their love with a beautiful, effortless destination wedding in Puerto Rico.
Our black & white monstera and palm mural by Puerto Rican artist Padin Sosa spoke to the artist in Diana, and she just had to include it in her wedding photos. Here is what Diana & Nick had to say about their wedding at Hacienda222:
“Thank you for everything the Hacienda222 crew did for us. We had an absolute blast! Everything exceeded our expectations! (and we had high expectations). Every single guest expressed to us how much they loved the venue and everything that came with it. Many of the guests expressed “We have never been a part of anything like it”.
Our whole vision was to involve our friends and family in an adventure that will create memories together and new lifelong friendships. This was 100% achieved and we could not have done it without Hacienda222.
We cannot thank you enough for making our wedding day one of the best days of our lives. We are still riding high from that day, even though we are in zero-degree temps in upstate NY right now.

A few days later, Hallie & Matthew opted for our Barefoot on the Beach Package at The Ruins. They took a moment to send this sweet note from their honeymoon:

Chloe & Chandler wanted to ‘trash the dress’ on their wedding day. They added drone photography resulting in fabulous photos and memories to last a lifetime!
