Joanna and Ashley and the rest of their team were incredibly responsive with every concern I had everything was taken care of for us all we had to do was show up and smile, if I can do something all over again I would probably do my wedding during the morning hours since apparently it always rains at 4:30 PM in Puerto Rico but other than that everything came out perfect. -Erika & Carlos

Worried About Rain on Your Wedding Day?

There is no need to worry about rain on your wedding day! We always tell our couples to leave the weather watching and any potential plan B’s to us. The day of your wedding, like most days, we will closely monitor the radar for the island (click here). We don’t look at forecasts; island weather can and does change and the models are not at all accurate. For instance, if you start to look at the long-range forecast ten days before your wedding date, it will almost certainly say a high chance of rain. It rarely rains all day; however, the models work that way, especially during the rainy season of May-November.

In reality, it rarely rains more than 15-20 minutes at one time, and we can and do work around such squalls. Such showers are often a wedding day gift, as they ensure the beaches won’t be crowded and often Mother Nature leaves behind a stunning rainbow. If the rain is looking like it will be more prolonged, we will recommend a plan B based on the weather, and your wedding and venue, if needed. We’ve learned in our experience with hundreds of destination weddings that worrying about the weather is not helpful; what is meant to be, will be, and we will work with that!

If you’d like to reduce the possibility of rain on your wedding day, we have a few suggestions. First, consider booking a morning wedding. Most summer storms come through in the afternoon and, as an added bonus, the lighting in the morning will give you the brightest Caribbean colors for your wedding pictures and video. Second, consider booking a wedding during the dry season, from December to March. Third, book your wedding at Hacienda222! We have covered spaces for your ceremony, so you can eliminate weather as a concern.

If you have questions about rain on your wedding day or anything else, please fill out our contact form. We would love to help!

“What a great experience from beginning to end! Once you decide to use their company they communicate with you on everything, even down to the weather the day of the ceremony. They recommended to move our time up because of rain and it was a good thing we did! We had several questions to answer at the beginning about how we met, etc. and Joanna incorporated those answers in the most beautiful vows! She gave us so much information once we picked our location that was so helpful also. Alex, the photographer, was great as well! Highly recommend this organization!!” -Robin & Tim
