- El Morro requires a long and exposed walk to the gates, it can be grueling
- There are no transport options
- Only elopements are possible here
- San Juan in general is a big city, with big city noises, traffic, onlookers, etc
- Cannot fly the drone for video and photo, as it is prohibited by the National Park Service
- Not all services are possible
- El Morro is a stone fortress with little shade, it gets very hot
- No celebration possibilities

- Requires a permit from the National Parks Service including special events and liability insurance
