Zoom In: Maria & Anderson

Maria & Anderson were married at Guajataca Tunnel in Isabela on a beautiful September day. Maria reached out to Puerto Rico Destination Weddings more than six months ago, looking for help planning her international wedding. Maria & Anderson live in Chicago, but they are both Venezuelan and had family coming in from around the world. They wanted to enjoy their precious time with loved ones while in Puerto Rico and not spend any of her time worrying about her wedding. She came to the right place!

Maria’s wedding day itinerary began with our hair and makeup artist’s arrival at her villa to help her get ready. When it was time to travel to their wedding location, Maria & Anderson chose to ride separately so they could have a first look at the altar. Anderson rode ahead with his family while Maria and her bridesmaids rode in style in our limousine, fondly nicknamed “Coco Chanel”.

Maria & Anderson’s customized wedding ceremony took place on the stunning beach at Guajataca Tunnel. After the ceremony, Maria & Anderson took some family photos before being whisked away by their photographer and videographer to capture a few special and private moments. Enjoy a few photos from Maria & Anderson’s big day!

Maria & Anderson wanted to see each other for the first time at the altar, so Maria & her crew rode separately in Coco Chanel, our limousine.

Guajataca Tunnel is a favorite location with our wedding couples and we understand why! We love the many different backdrops it offers … from the bright blue of the Atlantic Ocean, to the dramatic cliffs, the shade of the palm groves, and the beautiful architecture of the historic tunnel itself!

All our wedding packages include photography time to capture your full wedding experience… the moment you first arrive, the ceremony itself, photos with friends and family, and our favorite, photos with just the couple. A time to capture both your personalities, and your love!

We work hard to deliver amazing wedding day experiences for our happy couples, and we love reading Maria’s grateful words:

“I want to thank Joanna, Ashley, and all the Puerto Rico Destination Weddings team for making this day unforgettable! Everything was beautifully done, our family and us were stunned by how perfect our ceremony was. The best part: This company is super easy to work with, they are professional, responsive, and they literally take care of everything which was a huge concern when I was searching for wedding planners, but I found them and I was able to plan such a beautiful wedding from Chicago. Thank you.”

Felicidades to the happy couple! We hope to see you in five years for your vow renewal!

Worried about rain on your wedding day?

There is no need to worry about rain on your wedding day! We always tell our couples to leave the weather watching and any potential plan B’s to us. If there is rain on your wedding day, it rarely rains more than 15-20 minutes at one time, and we can and do work around such squalls. Such showers are often a wedding day gift, as they ensure the beaches won’t be crowded and often Mother Nature leaves behind a stunning rainbow.

There are several considerations, some controllable, some not-so-much, from weather, to lighting, to comfort for you and your guests. What is the best time to get married in Puerto Rico?

The best time to get married in Puerto Rico is year-round! In general, we recommend NOT planning around the weather. Even during Puerto Rico’s rainy season, it rarely rains all day. And, we’ve found that on rainy days Mother Nature often rewards our patience with truly deserted beaches, stunning cloud formations, and even rainbows.
