Puerto Rico Wedding Venue Spotlight: The Ruins in Aguadilla

The Ruins in Aguadilla is one of our most popular wedding locations. This picturesque location was once a lighthouse,  destroyed more than  one hundred years ago. Legend has it that the resident lighthouse keeper’s wife had a premonition about the impending storm and the family evacuated just ahead of a tsunami, saving the entire family. A little off-the-beaten-path, like many of our favorite wedding venues, the drive takes you through a golf course and down an unpaved section of road to get to The Ruins. But it’s well worth the adventure! Weddings can take place inside The Ruins or at several stunning locations on the beach just outside. This wedding venue is big enough to have a large wedding party, while also perfect for an intimate elopement.

The Ruins provide a dramatic backdrop for your wedding photos, as in this romantic picture from Angela & Brian’s Elopement.

Holly & Tim added drone photography to their wedding at The Ruins. We love this photo of them as they stroll down the beach while their kids play on the rocks.

Your wedding ceremony can be held in The Ruins themselves or in various locations on the beach just behind The Ruins, as in Irene & Jose’s vow renewal.

This is what Greg and Omar had to say after their wedding at the Ruins: “The Ruins in Aguadilla were simply breathtaking. The pictures truly do not give the area justice. From the history of the ruins, the lush greenery and the lovely crashing waves. You get it all here in one place. So many options for pictures and the colors pop in your pictures.”

These gorgeous Caribbean blue waters are the backdrop for your wedding at The Ruins.
