Today, we want to walk you through what your wedding day might look like.
This post is a bit of a choose your own adventure. We customize your day just for you, so if a section in this post is about a service that doesn’t interest you, just move on to the next section until you have your dream wedding day! Alternately, if you’d like more information about a service we haven’t mentioned, contact us. We’re happy to help!
Hair & Makeup
Limousine
The next team member you might meet is your chauffeur. Similar to the hair and makeup service, we’ll send you a limousine itinerary and introduce you to your chauffeur about a week before your wedding. Your chauffeur is a part of the PRDW family, not an outside contractor. They will have your contact information and you will have theirs if you should need it on your big day. Your limo will be scheduled to arrive at your hotel or rental early, waiting for when you are ready. Your wedding day is carefully planned and coordinated, and our luxe transportation is a big part of that, removing any stress about timelines, transportation, or driving in an unfamiliar place. And, it’s pretty fun to ride and arrive in style!
After your wedding ceremony, you’ll be transported back to your rental or hotel. Additional stops are possible if planned in advance and for an additional fee. Just ask us for a quote!
Wedding Venue
Regardless of which of our gorgeous locations you choose, you made a great choice! All of our venues are outdoors and showcase the beauty of Puerto Rico and the gorgeous variety of nature. The sky and the surf are never the same for two weddings!
You should know that you will be exposed to the elements. We advise that you bring water, wear sunscreen and take the precautions you would for any day outdoors. We recommend comfortable shoes that you are willing to take off the time seems right. Three-piece suits and heavy dresses are not ideal for destination weddings in the Caribbean.
Some of our venues require walking and some are what we call adventure elopements. Our adventure elopements are only recommended for our most daring couples. There could be sun, wind, and rain on your wedding day, maybe even all three. You can read more about how we handle weather on your wedding day here.
Ahead of your wedding day, we’ll send detailed information about your venue, a pin for directions, where the closet public restrooms are, etc. so that you can know how to plan for your day.
Photography and Videography
Once you arrive at your wedding venue (and even before), your amazing photographer and videographer will begin capturing your day. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be followed by paparazzi, this is your chance! We believe in a photojournalistic style of photography, documenting the story and all of the moments, big and small, posed and candid, for your wedding day in Puerto Rico!
If you have any special photos in mind, your videographer and photographer are happy to help with that … Or if the thought of taking wedding photos is daunting, no worries, you have world-class professionals to guide you! They have plenty of ideas!
Officiant
When you book your wedding with us, we’ll send you a quick questionnaire so that we can get to know you a little better and plan your ceremony. Your professional and experienced officiant will use your responses to create a customized ceremony for you. We love to customize our weddings for all kinds of couples. We perform ceremonies for vow renewals, blended families, same-sex weddings, & opposite-sex weddings. We love integrating cultural elements and traditions from around the world, from ‘jumping the broom’ to exchanging malas. We’re happy to include a favorite reading, or scripture, or not mention religion at all. It is your day and we want your wedding ceremony to reflect who you are.
In addition, because your officiant works closely with your team (our senior officiant and senior photographer have worked together with more than 500 happy couples!), you are in great hands. Our team works together as a well-oiled machine. Every wedding, every couple, every day is different, but our experiences working together as a team (indeed, a family) ensure that your day runs beautifully and seamlessly. You can read more here.
Other Details
We’ll send you instructions on where to meet us ahead of time and we’ll meet you at your venue in the designated area. If you have asked for a bouquet and boutonniere, we’ll have that waiting for you. We’ll begin with your customized wedding ceremony which will take about 15 minutes. From there, we’ll turn it over to your photographer for another 45 minutes or so (depending on your package). If you have guests, We’ll get some photos with your guests, and then your photographer will show you all the most beautiful spots at your wedding venue taking amazing photos along the way.
We’ve just covered a few of our services in this post. If you’d like more information about what to expect on your wedding day, please contact us. We’d love to help!
