Happy Halloween from Puerto Rico Destination Weddings! What does a wedding look like on the spookiest day of the year? A Halloween wedding can be simply stunning…land so much fun! Where you live the weather might be turning cold and the leaves on the trees starting to change colors and fall. Here in Puerto Rico, the land of endless summer, the leaves are all still green and firmly affixed to the trees but we think a Haloween wedding is a perfect time for a little creativity.  You can acknowledge this special holiday by opting for our sunflower bouquet or choosing a non-traditional wedding dress color. For many holiday weddings, there are special considerations. The beaches might be more crowded, businesses might be closed, etc. But Halloween is not widely celebrated in Puerto Rico, making a Halloween wedding a beautiful way to say I Do! Check out some of our couples ideas for a Halloween wedding:

#5 Be bold!

A Halloween wedding is a perfect time to be bold and opt for non-traditional wedding color. Sonia’s gorgeous blue wedding dress is a stunning example! Bonus points if you have your sweet pup walk you down the aisle.

#4 Go for sunflowers

It might always be summer in Puerto Rico, but you can opt for fall colors by choosing a sunflower bouquet or decor. Ivy & Brett’s sunflower wedding at Hacienda222 included sunflowers cut the day before from Finca El Girasol (“The Sunflower Farm” in English) on the south side of Puerto Rico.

#3 Have a little fun!

We’re not saying you should wear a Halloween costume on your wedding day…although we’d support you if that is your vibe! A subtle nod to the day can be a fun way to celebrate your Halloween wedding! We love the Mad Men vibes of Rebecca & Eric’s elopement. They look amazing!

#2 Look out for the unexpected

Our photographers always make sure to capture all the little details of your day. Like this La Catrina spotted in old San Juan during the wedding of Lindsay & Jeremiah.

#1 Opt for sunset

We can’t control the weather (read more here) or the color of the sky at night. But we’d love to help you plan your Halloween wedding at sunset, if we get lucky, we might get a stunning orange sunset as in the wedding of Anastasiia & Vitalii.
